Broken Leg

The highlight of the last two weeks, if you could call it a highlight. Sean got tackled in a football game and broke his leg, he had to have 3 screws put in his leg. So we spent two weeks going to Dr's and no school. He is finally back in school, but still no seminary. Its amazing how quickly life can change in an instant we get moving on and then something happens, Wow course change.

Derek is doing well, but his body is falling apart.

Fall

The kids are back in school, and sports, gymnastics etc have started. I always dread the starting of school, but once we get into the routine its nice to be able to get other things done.

Heather came and we spent a day in NYC, I have never been to so many stores in NYC, it was a total girls day. We were wiped by the time we finally made it home.

We went to see the Nate Berkus show, we had to be to the CBS studios at 8am, it was fun, but we saw a side of Nate that was a little diva. Live and learn. I don't live in his life so it is hard to say more.

We are going to see Wicked

I am really excited Heather and I are going to see Wicked on Broadway, hopefully I will be able to upload a few pictures in Times Square.

We have a soccer game on Saturday, for practice we worked on dribbling the ball up, and kicking it as hard as we can. We also worked on staying in position. Its a lot of pressure to coach.

I have been steadily working at Macy's, I like that I can say when I can work. This way I don't have to work on Sundays.

Beautiful Saturday

The weather was perfect on Saturday. We went to Seans first freshman football game. Kelsey had her first soccer game, the kids did really well. We scored 4 goals, with two assists. Yeah. I had the kids high five the team member that helped them score. Heather is coming in two weeks, totally pshyched we should have a lot of fun.

HOT,

For being September it was almost 90 degress. To bad the pool is closed. We all know how much I enjoy swimming. Today is the first day of class for me, it is back to the grind. I enjoy going to school, it just adds pressure to be young and carefree again. It is definetly harder with all of the other responsibilities that I have.

The kids have tommorow off for Roshoshana, they have a 3 day week again. We just get the routine down and they have a day off. Tommorow is soccer practice, we are still looking for a name for our team, the kids cannot agree.

Labor Day

It is hard to believe that summer is over, ugh. No more swimming and reading by the pool. Its time to get back into the swing of school, housework, laundry and work. Its a beautiful sabbath day, getting ready to write a nice letter to my Derek.

Yesterday we finally took the kids to the new minature golf place that looks like a castle. It was so much fun. Guess who won. ME, ME Me I beat Sean a Mike I know it sounds like I am gloating, but they always rub it into my face.

Lymes Disease

Just found out I have Lymes disease, I thought I was just tired. Now I know why I am so tired, it is not like me to fall asleep getting a mani pedi. I had such a hard time last semester concentrating, this is a sign of Lymes disease also. I am on a month long dose of anitbiotics hopefully I will feel better soon. I could sleep all day, the worst part is not be able to remeber things. It was really hard last semester to focus, luckily I still pulled a B plus but it was tough.

Yellow Leaves

With the really warm weather, the leaves are starting to turn yellow and orange, it is only the second week of August. I am definetly not ready for fall, summer has come and gone to quick. I am ready for it to be June again.

Hot, Hot, Hot

It was 96 degress with the heat index even hotter. We spent the afernoon at the pool swimming, I even got in to swim a few laps, until I start swimming laps I forget how much I really enjoy swimming. There is nothing like swishing through the water and feeling your muscles move it is exhilerating and relaxing at the same time. I can also read and enjoy a good easy read, while the kids swim.

Yeah for me, I ran and 8 minute mile with a minute and half cardio spurt.

August 10,2010

High School football has started that means that the summer is over for Sean. His time will be spent at football. Kelsey is excited for Rachel and Zach to come, she has a countdown of the days.

I feel as if the summer is almost over and it makes me sad, I feel like it went way to fast.

School will be starting in about 3 weeks. Yuck

NYC

Matt and Cindy were here visiting with the kids. We spent 48 hours visiting New York City and Statue of Liberty. We left here at 9:00 am and got home at 12:33 am. We stopped at the Tick Tock Diner in Clifton at 10:30 pm for dinner.

Atlantic City, New Jersey

On are way home from Atlantic City, NJ. We are sitting in track on Route 24, luckily the only traffic on our way home. We so much needed this break to spend time as a family. We are all tan, and rested, well rested from the everyday grind. I have eaten to many onion rings, and desserts. It justs means that I go to the gym for no reason. We sat on the way down for about an hour and fifteen minutes and went 20 miles if even.

Home awaits us.

Vacation 2010

Its the final week of school, I am sitting on the beach with my feet in the sand working on the final touches to my blog. Kelsey is burying a football in the sand. Mike and Sean are in the Atlantic Ocean riding the waves. This is paradise, Yvette style.

Kelsey stepped on a shell the first day so yesterday we had to see the hotel docter. he prescribed an antibiotic because her foot became infected. She still doesn't put pressure on her foot. Something always happens when we go away for vacation, it has gotten to be a family joke.

She had such a hard time walking up the boardwalk that Mike and her rode in the push carts to the Rain Forest Cafe, we had a two hour wait for dinner. We sat down to eat at 9:00 pm. Today we slept until 8:45, I did 4 /12 miles and some weights, and in a little while I will play in the water.

kelsey is doing remarkable better today.

Off to finish up the last of my assingments for school.

Finals Week

I sound like a grade school kid waiting for summer. I can hardly wait. I need a break, we are leaving fro 6 days of relaxing bliss on the beach. Sand, sun, pool here I come.

I just have a few things to finish up for my class, well not a few, a test, a discussion portfolio, a paper, and a video clip. Yikes. I have started working on all of them. Wish me luck

Briggs School had Theme day. I was there for most of the day, we moved from 6 different class that represented 6 different countries, we learned how to do a dance from Africa, Mexico and India. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun dancing. This picture is of the kids watching the African Dancers and learning about Africa

Organizational Behavior Class

So I am going to try and download something from the internet. I was thinking of using this clip for my OB class.\

Okay I tried and it didn't work.

Sandy is out of the hospital, and Mike and Sean are at Scout Camp. Mike was so happy that he passed the swim test. He said in all his years of going he has not been able to pass the test before.

Sean broke his fishing pole, luckily someone was going up and I sent up a new pole from the shed.

Mike says there are spiders everywhere. He bought 4 cans of RAID bug spray, hopefully this will keep the bugs at bay.

Tommorow I am taking Red to ENT docter in Parsippany for a hearing test. He doesn't want me to go, but Sandy is addimate. I am caught in the middle.

Skunks

We woke up Tuesday morning with two dead skunks in our yard. Sean was unwilling to go and pick it up, so we waited for Mike to come home and pick it up. He even buried it, his Mom approved

The bad news is that his Mom has been in the hospital for a week, she has been throwing up so the have not been letting her eat or drink. Her lips and mouth are so dry from the lack of water. The IV has caused fluid to build up in her lungs. Her liver is pushing out enzymes and she has been throwing up for a whole week.

Summer Fun

Kelse y and Hailey swimming this summer, today they swam for probably 5 hours, they were so tired. Sean, Chris and Alex had fun playing Marco Polo and Fish out of Water. Mike came down and helped Delyle and Laurie pack a storage pod. Fun, fun, fun in the sun.

Sean and I played basketball, I think Sean was a little surprised how good some of the women were, he had to bring his A game and he was a little surprised.

Laurie's Birthday

We took Laurie to lunch at Olive Garden today for here birthday. I totally surprised her. Yeah, she almost cancelled on me. We had soup, salad and cake. I think it made her feel good that people would come to her birthday. The waitress did an awesome job, she had everyone sing it was great. I so got her good, I can't believe that she didn't catch on, I tried so hard to play it cool, when she thought she might have to cancel.

Frustration/Burnout

I am so ready for school to be over. I just need a vacation, and time to just veg without having any commitments. My Organizational Behavior Class is causing me stress, I am still not sure what she wants, and what I need to do exactly. This is causing a lot of stress and strain.

I am just glad school is over for the kids, and a lot of their activities.

Softball and baseball turned out not to be that positive for me or the kids. Its hard to put out a lot of energy and have it handed back mushed up. Thats life.

Kelsey playing softball

The girls came along way. When we first started, the girls could barley catch a ball. They were catching balls, and throwing girls out. The first inning every girl hit the ball in the first 3 pitches. It moved a long really quick. Its amazing how good the girls have gotten. Go ASTROS

Kelsey

hair,hair, hair

I actually was able to change the colors and background, hurray

Well the saga with my hair, I have been to the hair dresser 3 times in a week, once to keratin straighten, once to color, once to wash out the keratin and cut. So it has been a hair, hair, hair week

Rain

It looks like the last track meet will be rained out again, as will Sean baseball game. Thats two for two on the track meet. Kelsey is going to be disappointed, the kids are winding down with school and it is the mad dash to get all of the last minute things done. Sean has 8th grade graduation next week, and it is a big deal, not quite as big as High School graduation, but its up there.

I am suppossed to go to the temple tommorow, the rain may make it a little difficult to get into the city. Hopefully not.

Field Trip

I went with Kelsey class on there field trip to Foster Fields Farm in Morristown, NJ It is a working farm the kids washed clothes on a wash board and hung them up to dry, they feed the chickens, ground the corn for the chickens, saw piglets fighting. Churned cream to make butter. Kelsey is with one of her classmates named Samantha and her teacher Miss Reilly is in the background.

Derek

Spencer took Derek and his companion out to eat while visiting in Huntington Beach, Californiaa. Looks like there was a lot of good food on the table.

Hot and Sunny

Seans away Kelsey and I are playing at Frog Falls water park at Picatinny Arsenal. We go right after school, I do homework and she plays on the waterslide and swims, today she brought her friend Sierra Violet to swim. They did not want to leave, we even had dinner at the pool. It is not something we do very often, but I think the girls had a lot of fun.

Tommorow is Field Trip to Foster Fields Hurray (just kidding).

Working at Macys over the weekend, Spencer took Derek and his Companion out for dinner. Derek looked really happy. It is the first time in 20 years I haven't worried about him. Its an awesome feeling.

Kelsey's a Brownie

Well its official, Kelsey is a brownie girl scout. We had her crossover at Camp Jefferson. It was on the stage with backdrop of the lake. It was really pretty.

Sean is on his 8th grade trip, I hope he has a great time.

Schools going okay, still having a hard time getting the Orghanizational Behavior class organized in my head. Ugh.

Feeling a little stressed, trying to get everything organized and done.

90 degrees to 60 degrees

Okay whats the deal we go from 90 degrees to 60 degrees in 24 hours. Kelsey softball game we only played 2 innings because it was so hot. Her track meet was rain and thunderstormed out.

I can tell it is the end of the year, there is so much to do. Fielday, teachers gifts it's crazy. Dont forget class trips, we are going to Fosterfields, everyone said it is boring. I will have to let you know, I will make my own decision. Plus I am working at Macys. My Organizational Behavioral class I am having such a hard time getting it organized in my head. I feel like I can barely breath I keep trying to study it and it gets all mixed up in my head. Some weeks are better than others.

Swimming

We are actually swimming before Memorial Day, it hit 90 degrees today. When Sean and Kelsey got home from school we went swimming at the Bloomquists. Hailey got to come with us and no one wanted to leave. We had to leave for Kelsey to go to a softball game. She had a hard time, I think she swallowed to much pool water and the heat. Luckily we only played two innings.

Theme Day

I helped out at Briggs School for theme day, otherwise known as Kelsey School. We went spent the day learning about a lot of different countries. I had fun, and learned dances from India, Africa, Mexico. I took a picture and hopefully I can figure out how to add it later.

We are going to clean the church today, of course no one wants to give up their time to go, but in the end we will all go. Kids just like to complain.

Rachel and Zachary are moving to Boise, Idaho. Today was there last day of work at Applebee's in Rexburg, Idaho. Rachel said she was a little sad, this is the girl who has wanted to leave for the past 2 1/2 years go figure.

Our yard looks great, we got it all mulched with a nice black mulch. It looks awesome.

Sunshine

The weather definetly effects peoples moods, I talked with a few girl friends and they were a little blah also with the weather. Good to know I am not alone.

So I am working on lesson 21 for Doctrine and Covenants. In my Organizational Behavior class we discussed stress, strains, and how they affect Job Satisfaction. I would want to have challenge stressors it helps motivate me. I hate when
the daily hassels get in the way of what I want to accomplish that day.

I feel as if a burden has been lifted from me, to know that what went on two years ago was not all in my head, but a real problem. Whew......

Rain, Rain, Rain

Rain, Rain go away. I know rain is good for the planet and the grass and tress, but it sure makes me lazy, and blah......

Tommorow the weather is suppossed to better.

I did something fun last night, I gave makeup lessons to a few girls at church. I had a lot of fun I really hope they did also. I wish I would have had more time to play with some more colors and do a little more teaching.

Later I want to imput more photos and maybe some more music. We will see what I can do. I actually purchased the memory card today. Yeah for me..

Spring

Well the day started out iffy with a little lite rain and then the sun decided to make an appearance. We went from having the heat on to the A.C. in a matter of 12 hours. You got to love the spring. The days just fly bye, by the time I go to the gym, get things cleaned up, study, run some errands if I have time. School is out. We are on our way to a track meet for Kelsey. I a interested to see if her times improved from the week before, we missed last week because of soft ball.

So hear it goes I am going to attempt to imput a photo or two. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

I took my first exam for Organizational Behavior 84 out of 100. I did better than I thought I would do.

My children are my greatest joy, but they also bring the greatest sorrow. I know they know right from wrong, but it is hard to see them struggle. I know they want the greatest blessings that the Lord can give them, but the world becomes so inticing. The older I have gotten the more I realize how hard it is to endure to the end. Sometimes you just feel like getting of the train and taking a break, but it just delays your progress.

Seans rec baseball team is having a hard time winning a game, they keep getting ten run at every game. I was hoping that baseball would give him some confidence, it is doing the opposite.

Have you ever known you need to make changes, and not sure which change to make. Knowing that you need help from above so that the world doesn't collapse underneath you.

School

I am feeling a little overwhelmed. Too much to do and to little time. I worked quite a few days last week and that seemed to just put me behind a little bit. I am having a hard time trying to study for my Organizational Behavior class, I can't figure out how everything fits together and what to study. I bombed the last test and am frustrated, espcially since I thought I aced it. UGHHHHHH. I liked working those few days, it was a nice break from my normal routine. I just didn't have any free time, by the time Sunday came I crashed. Sunday was definetly a day of rest. It was also mothers day, I was so excited to talk with my missionary. He sounded so grown up, and I can see the growth. I thought once my kids grew up I wouldn't have to worry about them, but I still do. I shouldn't say worry, I don't know what more I could have done. I did the best I could with the resources I had. I just don't think I prepared them to be adults, and I tried to so hard.

Kelsey made me the cutest card and her and Sean both gave me a nice card. My daughter Rachel actually made me a beaded watch, it heavy but really cute, I got so many compliments on it. Tommorow inserting pictures, we will see if I can do it by myself and maybe I will even be able to change the background. Who knows what tommorow will bring.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

School

Another day of studying, I am slowly grasping the concepts for the Organizational behavior class. I still need to make out some new outlines for studying, but I am slowyly starting to understand. Its hard to fit everything I need to do I try to keep up on things but the days just seem to fly bye.

Looking for ideas on how to send a cake for Derek for his birthday. Sandy had an idea so I am going to let her run with it. She is going in for surgery, Nathaniel my nephew had surgery today. My other nephew Creed is going to a specialist at the end of the month, they still are not sure what is going on. The Terry bunch is falling apart.

Matt was made the new bishop of his Ward in Paris, Texas.

When I first started to type I wasn't sure I would have anything to say, but look 4 whole paragraphs.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

New Project

I am starting a new project for school to try and learn more about using the computer and maybe imputing my own pictures instead of relying on others. This will mean a trip to Best Buy to get a memory card for the camera so pictures will have to wait a few days.

Kelsey baseball team is doing well, it is fun working with the girls. She is also running track she has gotten better. The first week of running the 800 she quit mid way. The next week she finished it and her time wasn't to bad, it would have been better if she had stayed in the inner lane. She will learn.

Sean is playing on a travel baseball team, all of his games are on Sunday. When he was trying out we asked when the games were and we were to told Saturdays. He .wouldn't have even tried out, they only took 10 boys and needed a commitment from everyone to be there. To top it off. We'll live and learn.

Schools going well, I am having a hard time organzing my thoughts for one of my classes. I just need to spend a little bit of time.
